Former Olympic swimming champion Grant Hackett has apologised after claims he delivered a devastating nipple twister to a fellow airline passenger.

Grant apparently took exception to a male passenger reclining in the seat in front of him. The victim explains how Grant first “yanked the seat back” before assaulting him:

Then he groped my chest and tweaked my nipple quite forcefully.

Hackett released his own statement:

I have stuffed up more than once and am working on these issues.

I seriously and genuinely regret my poor behaviour. It is embarrassing to hear and read the consequences of my actions. I apologise unreservedly to the gentleman on the flight. I am trying to make direct contact with him.

Hackett won Olympic gold in the 1500m freestyle in both 2000 and 2005 and is Ian Thorpe’s #1 rival.

There aren’t many things you can do to a person that are more vicious than a nipple twister. It’s not just the pain, it’s the emasculation that comes with it. Worse than even pulling someone’s pants down or giving them a sick wedgie. So for Grant Hackett to be dishing out nipple twisters just because a guy reclined his chair back is a step too far IMO. What would he do if you actually did something major like steal his girlfriend’s hot dog? He’d probably kill you. Stick this dude in a mental hospital and let’s not have to worry about him nipple twisting anyone ever again.
