White supremacist and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke has announced that he has applied to run for Louisiana’s US Senate race, saying:
The climate of this country has moved in my direction.
The people of this country, the patriotic, decent, God-fearing people of this country are now right with me.

This is really fucking worrying guys – I mean, I know Trump is pretty much on the same level as Duke, but this guy is outwardly a violent, racist, white supremacist. If people like him start gaining power, the race divide in America will become more out of control than Trump’s barnet.
Duke even said himself that he is only running after feeling inspired by Trump’s success, saying that he has adopted principles for years that are similar to the themes Republicans are now supporting in their campaign:
[They’re] embracing the core issues I have fought for my entire life.

What – completely irrational, made up, mentally and socially inept, uncivilised bullshit? Oh wait, yeah, I guess that pretty much sums up Trump’s core values and policies.
This is a really bad look for the Republicans – no matter how racist their views might be, they do their best to cover this fact up and in no way should they outwardly endorse the KKK. Hence why, since registering with the GOP, state and federal Republicans have been quick to denounce Duke’s Senate bid.
Roger Villere, chairman of the Republican Party of Louisiana, said that he will actively work to oppose him, while Ward Baker of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said that he would not support the organisation under any circumstance. Well duh.
Do what you like guys – the former leader of the KKK has perfectly outlined that your head of party and the issues you are currently embracing are in line with the KKK.
