I know I keep posting trailers to movies saying they look like the scariest movie of the year (re: Clown, Goodnight Mommy etc) but I guess we’ve just had a really good year for scary movies or something?

The next candidate is a movie called The Forest starring Natalie Dormer (oh baby) from Game Of Thrones. Here’s the blurb:

A supernatural thriller set in the legendary Aokigahara Forest.

A young American woman, Sara (Natalie Dormer of “Game of Thrones” and “The Hunger Games”), goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared.

Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate.

Sounds creepy. Wait until you get a load of the trailer though – there’s definitely a gnawing feeling of dread all throughout it.

Looks creepy huh? It probably isn’t going to be as terrifying as Goodnight Mommy on account that it’s an MTV movie starring Natalie Dormer and not an art house Austrian movie, but it still looks like it could pack a punch. By the way I’m calling it now: none of the monsters are actually real and it’s all in her head and the movie ends with her committing suicide in the forest. We’re going to have to wait until January to find out but remember you heard it here first.

If you want to know more about the Japanese suicide forest, check out the feature we ran on it some time ago.
