Forcing criminals from the rival MS-13 and M18 gangs to share the same 12 x 15 foot cages has successfully brought the murder rate down in El Salvador from 12 a day to 5.

Most of the violent crimes these gangs commit is against one another, but it’s not unheard of for innocent victims to end up harmed or killed. Maybe they’ve been getting along better since being stuck with each other? Or maybe there’s just so many of them locked up that the streets are just a tad bit safer.
