Eastenders bosses have had to deny claims that Danny Dyer tried to start a fight with co-star Steve McFadden (aka Phil Mitchell) while on set.

This comes just days after Dyer left for South Africa, where he has opted to take a break from the show amid reports that it’s due to his “bad behaviour.”

The Sun has made claims that there was a “huge amount of tension” between Dyer and McFadden and that Dyer even “wanted to punch” him. A source apparently told the paper:

EastEnders might be trying to paint a picture of harmony but it couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s Steve who has more support. A lot of people find Danny a nightmare to work with.

Following the claims, a spokesperson for Eastenders has said that Dyer would never fight with the colleagues:

As previously stated, Danny is an extremely popular member of cast and respected by everyone on the show.

We all know that Danny Dyer is a top geezer. As his daughter Dani recently said, people are going to write bullshit about her dad after he decided to take a break from the soap, but most of it is bullshit and gossip.

Still, a fight between Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden is something I would pay big money to see. Perhaps that could be the next Eastenders plot for when Dyer makes his return.
