When you think of people in the world who least require a spare €20 million, Cristiano Ronaldo is way up there. The guy’s so stupidly rich he can afford to do things like fly his personal hair stylist out to Madrid once a month just to brush his waxwork’s hair.

But in another depressing case of how the rich get richer, Ronaldo just secured the aforementioned amount of cash after being given a small role in Martin Scoresese’s new film ‘The Manipulator’.
What’s he got to do? A cameo? Say a few lines? Nope — he’s just letting the producers use his penthouse apartment in New York for a few scenes in the film. €20 million to let a big time movie director shoot his next blockbuster using your flat which you aren’t even living in. Definitely better than letting it out on Airbnb eh?

What’s crazier is that producers had arranged for Ronaldo to make a cameo in the film as part of the deal as well, but the person who the film is based on — Italian millionaire Alessandro Proto — vetoed it:
Ronaldo is a great player, but that doesn’t mean he is the king of the world. I don’t want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorcese is in agreement with me. Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film.
I am sorry if he doesn’t feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some. If I have to give him €20million, I will give it to him with my own hands.
