An Afghan cleric has spoken out in defence of his marriage to a 6-year-old girl, saying that she was a ‘religious offering’ to him. The fact that this guy calls himself a religious leader is an actual joke.

Mohammed Karim, who has been arrested for marrying the girl, is believed to be in his 60s. He has told the court that he was given her as an offering from the parents.

However, they tell a different story and reportedly say that she was abducted without consent. I’m going to side with the parents on this one, because no mum and dad would ever hand over their young daughter to some perverted old priest.

Karim is currently being held in central Ghor province while investigations continue. Head of the Women Affairs Department in Ghor, Masoom Anwari, said:

This girl does not speak, but only repeats one thing: ‘I am afraid of this man’.

Poor thing – hopefully she will be returned to the safety of her parents ASAP. And hopefully that sick motherfucker will be locked up for a long time. He’s certainly going to pay in the afterlife, that’s for sure.
