We’re now at a point in time where there have been SO MANY school shootings in America that a company called ProTecht have seen fit to manufacture the Bodyguard Bulletproof Blanket specifically for kids at school to use in case of one. Really.
It’s a bulletproof (duh) pad which is made from the same materials that the US military utilises that comes in a variety of different sizes because you know, children come in a variety of different sizes. That means you might have to fork out for a new one every year to make sure that your kid is safe at school every year of their lives.

I mean on the one hand, this is probably actually a fairly good idea, because in America you pretty much have the chance of getting shot WHEREVER you go these days as there are so many psychos with guns who think it’s cool to go on killing sprees for no real reason.
On the other hand though, of course it’s completely sad and awful that we live in a society where this even needs to be a concept. Unfortunately though, the fact is that we (at least those of us that live in America) do like in said society and it may very well be a necessity in the future. I mean better safe than sorry right?
Of course, you can criticise a company like ProTecht as well for even making such a product, clearly designed to capitalise on the fear of parents for the safety of their children when it’s very unlikely they’ll actually be the victim of a school shooting. However, if they were and the blanket ended up saving them, then they will actually be doing something useful. It’s just unlikely that this will happen very many times so it’s a bit of tricky one.
Alternatively, you could just get so stoned that you don’t even worry about the threat of school gunmen like this dude.
