It’s Pancake Day. Or Shrove Tuesday. I don’t normally celebrate it or anything – I don’t think I’ve celebrated it since I was in the Scouts maybe and that was a LONG time ago – but my buddy decided to have a pancake day party which is pretty cool. Although I don’t think it’s gonna be a party where people dance and do drugs and have a good time, I think it will just be a bunch of people hanging out on a Tuesday eating pancakes and it will probably end really early. Still, it’s the same buddy that I went to see Ghost Rider with on Friday and Jay and Silent Bob on Saturday so I guess he has a 50/50  chance of it being a good time.

But yeah I thought to get everyone in the mood for Pancake Day (Ok I know you probably are already but maybe it’ll pump you up even more) I figured I would drop some cool Pancake Day related videos. Leisure already dropped this one of Barringgton from Maid Marion and his Merry Men and his Pancake Day song but it’s so funny and brings back some great childhood memories for everyone  so I figured I would stick it up too . Make sure you watch it until the end for an extra joke:

Here’s a bizarre video that looks like it was made in 1985 but was actually made in 2009! It explains the meaning of Shrove Tuesday – which apparently is a guy in a gorilla suit eating a nametag!? Um? There’s also a really cool part at the beginning where the narrator goes around a U.S. college campus asking people with weird names if they know what Shrove Tuesday is. Nobody does. It gets kind of boring about 1:30 where they actually start explaining it. The part with the gorilla suit is killer though. If you watch it until the end you see the gorilla again and also find out that it’s some kind of propaganda video for the presbyterian church.

This next one is definitely the best pancake day related video I’ve found. It’s a song about eating pancakes, waffles and french toast sang by three animated penguins who look like they live in a massive ingloo.  The band is called Club Penguin. Admittedly it’s more geared to waffles but I guess you can probably eat waffles on pancake day too. This is a seriously cool song, I even posted it on my personal Facebook page! Nobody has liked or commented on it yet but I’m sure people are enjoying it.

Actually it seems like this pancake song is a sleeper viral hit as there are a bunch of videos that have got it with different people singing it, which is kinda disappointing but also kind of awesome too, especially when you have Pikachu and the Pokemon getting involved in this one. Pikachu even plays guitar at the end. Happy Pancake Day.
