Job interviews can be a pretty intense and nerve-racking experience, but it’s safe to say if you do what 18 year old Devin Washington did during his, you’ll probably get the job every time. That’s because Devin actually managed to thwart a robbery attempt during his interview at Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen in East New Orleans over the weekend.

50 year old Pablo Ciscart walked into the restaurant while Devin’s interview was happening and went up to the desk and asked for some change. When the cashier opened the till to oblige him, Ciscart reached over and tried to grab some of the money out of it.

Dominique Griffin, who was serving him at the time, tried to grab him but couldn’t quite reach him. Danyanna Metoyer – the manager who was interviewing Devin – was doing so at a table near the door and was able to get up and stop him from leaving the restaurant.

Devin was also quick to help too, sprinting to his feet and grabbing Ciscart’s arm and bending it round his back to restrain him. Realising he was overpowered by a woman and an 18 year old kid, Cascara surrendered and threw the money he had stolen all over the floor. The two of them waited with him – Devin allegedly putting him in a ‘reverse bear hug’ according to the cops – until the authorities showed up to take him into custody.

I guess it probably helped that Devin is 6’5″ and 297 lbs too – that’s him in the middle.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to mess with him either. Metoyer said the following:

My upper-body strength was stronger than his.

We hadn’t made hardly any money. He wasn’t going to take the $300 to 400 we probably had made. We needed our money.

I’d already decided to give Devin a job, but his bravery during the robbery really sealed the deal.

What a great story. It’s good to know that if you ever need a job, all you need to do is pay some homeless crack addict $50 to try and rob the place and then thwart it and the job is as good as yours. Great tactic.

Of course, it’s not gonna work during the Facebook job interview because they ask you some of the weirdest questions in history.
